2009 APA Focused Planning Issue Award

American Planning Association, APA, is a nonprofit public interest and research organization committed to urban, suburban, regional, and rural planning. APA and its professional institute, the American Institute of Certified Planners, advance the art and science of planning to meet the needs of people and society.

The Orange County Great Park Comprehensive Master Plan stood out as the best in the Innovation in Regional Planning Category. This awards program is considered by U.S. planners to be the profession’s highest honor.

National Planning Awards was presented at the APA Conference awards luncheon in Minneapolis on April 28, 2009. Mia Lehrer, Steven Handel and Barry Curtis, AICP, Community Development Administrator, City of Irvine attended. www.planning.org
