Event to Educate the Public on How to Keep Themselves and Their Families Safe

The Great Park to Feature Community Safety Expo

IRVINE – Educate yourself and family with safety tips from local public safety agencies. Enjoy an interactive day with Police and Fire vehicle displays, live demonstrations, and informative safety booths. All this and more will be presented at the Community Safety Expo at the Orange County Great Park, Saturday, March 24 from 9:00 a.m. to
2:00 p.m.

“The Orange County Great Park is proud to host the Community Safety Expo in collaboration with the Irvine Police Department, the Orange County Fire Authority and the California Fire Museum,” said Beth Krom, Chair of the Orange County Great Park Corporation. “This educational event presents important safety information for families in a fun and interactive way.”

Activities will include interactive fire presentations, fire and police vehicle displays, Urban Search & Rescue and K-9 Dog demonstrations, kid-friendly activities and crafts, gourmet food trucks and much more. Kids are encouraged to bring their bikes for a free safety inspection and participate in the bike safety rodeo.

About the Great Park
The Orange County Great Park, with its 1,347-acre master plan, is the focal point of the redevelopment of the publicly-owned portion of the 4,700-acre former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. The Great Park features an iconic tethered helium balloon that rises 400 feet in the air, providing an aerial view of Park development. Other features include the Carousel, Farm + Food Lab, Kids Rock Playground, Walkable Timeline, Palm Court Arts Complex, North Lawn recreation area and historic Hangar 244.
