Runway Dash & e-Recycle Day

The Great Park will host its first Runway Dash & e-Recycle Day to get the community moving towards healthy and greener living. Enjoy a day of fitness fun, learning activities, gourmet food trucks and other activities such as:

Family 5K Run/Walk

Check-in is from 6:30am to 8:00am
5K Walk/Run starts at 8:00am, no late arrivals please

Take a scenic tour of the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station runways, agricultural areas, and the Orange County Great Park. Enjoy live entertainment and view vintage WWII aircrafts, agricultural equipment and fire engines throughout the route. This is a non-competitive race and will not be chip timed. However, a finish line clock will be available.

Advance registration for the Family 5K Run/Walk is now closed. Walk-ups are welcome on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Push & Pull Stroll

10:00am, 11:00am & 12:00pm

Grab your strollers, wagons or push carts to stroll with the kids along our “I Spy” walking path through the Great Park. No bikes, tricycles, scooters, skates or skateboards please. Advance registration is not required.

Mighty Mascot Race
10:30am, 11:30am & 12:30am
Mascots from local schools and organizations will march, waddle and walk their way to join the festivities. Come root on your favorite mascot as they compete to see who is the fittest of them all!

e-Recycling Zone & Green Village
8:00am - 1:00pm
Is it time to rid the garage of old televisions, computers or microwaves? Safely dispose your electronics at our free e-Recycling Zone.

In the Green Village, children are encouraged to bring a small clean empty jar or food can to learn how to create a recycled craft. Families can explore the education booths or enjoy a bite to eat at the gourmet food trucks.

Common Electronics Accepted:

Televisions, computer monitors, computers (CPU’s), laptops, keyboards, printers, mice, hard drives, fax machines, microwave ovens, DVD players, VCRs, cables and cords, telephones, cell phones, radios, shredders, stereo components, power supplies, tape and zip drives, all business and consumer electronic devices and more.

Hard drives will be completely destroyed and recycled according to FACTA Standards

We cannot accept: large appliances, toner cartridges, fluorescent bulbs or batteries of any kind.
