Concert Pianist & Artist-in-Residence Kevin Kwan Loucks and Cellist Denis Brott to Perform Recital Saturday
Foundation for Great Park Makes Classical Music Accessible to All Park Visitors

IRVINE – The Foundation for the Great Park is helping to advance the growing arts and culture program at the Great Park, by underwriting the residency of Kevin Kwan Loucks, making classical piano music accessible to all Park visitors.
This Saturday, come hear concert pianist and Artist-in-Residence Kevin Kwan Loucks as he performs classical selections in his latest recital, entitled Art of the Cello, at the Orange County Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex at 2:00 p.m. and repeated at 5:00 p.m., in the Great Park Artists Studios.
The recitals will feature Kevin Kwan Loucks on piano and one of North America’s most important living musicians, cellist Denis Brott, distinguished Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the Montreal Conservatory. Loucks and Brott will play chamber music selections from Schumann, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. Space is limited, and seats will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Kevin Kwan Loucks is a critically-acclaimed pianist and graduate of the Juilliard School in New York. He has performed throughout the world including Prösels Castle in Italy, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University where he served as Head of Piano for the Pre-College Division and Teaching Assistant for both the Emerson String Quartet the Graduate Chamber Music Program.
Loucks’ engagement will include monthly performances in the Palm Court. The Great Park Artists-in-Residence program is dedicated to showcasing artists, providing an educational experience for the community while designing site-specific visual or performance works for the Great Park.
The Artist-in-Residence program provides artists with suitable studio space and open studio hours to routinely interact with the general public during their six-month residency. The artists were selected by a panel of public arts experts through a competitive selection process administered by Arts Orange County, the county’s designated local arts agency.

About the Great Park
The Orange County Great Park, with its 1,347-acre master plan, is the focal point of the redevelopment of the publicly-owned portion of the 4,700-acre former Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro. The Great Park features an iconic tethered helium balloon that rises 400 feet in the air, providing an aerial view of Park development. Other features include the Carousel, Farm + Food Lab, Kids Rock Playground, Walkable Timeline, Palm Court Arts Complex, North Lawn recreation area and historic Hangar 244.
