Shadows in Stereo

An Interactive 3-D Shadow Theatre Experience for All Ages

Shadows in Stereo

IRVINEParticipate in another exciting Palm Court Arts Happening at the Orange County Great Park when acclaimed theater artist Christine Marie performs an imaginative evening of Shadows in Stereo, an engaging 3-D shadow theater experience for all ages, at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex on Thursday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m.

In Shadows in Stereo, the audience becomes the show! This outdoor theatrical experience employs hand-made, artist-designed stereoscopic lighting instruments and 3-D glasses. Shadows in Stereo represents a rare opportunity for visitors to view imaginative short scenes, while creating stereoscopic three-dimensional effects using their own shadows. As audience members move through the performance area, shadows are projected on a screen forty feet high. Throughout this illuminated evening, volunteer “shadow casters” continually produce special effects that enhance this unique, mysterious and enjoyable new approach to the art of public performance.

Christine Marie is an integrated media artist and director who breaks new ground using light as a form of art. She received a Master in Fine Arts from Cal Arts in theater, puppetry and integrated media. Her work has been presented at REDCAT Theater, RadarLA Festival, South Coast Reparatory and the Geffen Playhouse.

Shadows in Stereo is the second of nine Palm Court Arts Happenings presented at the Orange County Great Park in partnership with Arts Orange County, a leader in building appreciation and support for the arts and arts education throughout Orange County. The partnership with Arts Orange County will bring a variety of unique arts experiences to the Great Park throughout the year.

The Orange County Great Park is located at Sand Canyon and Marine Way, and can easily be reached by the 5 or 405 freeways. For more information, visit https://www.ocgp.org/events or call (866) 829-3829.
