Free November Sports Clinics at the Great Park

IRVINE – Sharpen your skills or try something new during November at the Great Park’s free sports clinics. This month, the Park features two clinics operated by i9 Sports, a local leader in youth sports programs. The clinics complement the growing number of sports programs at the Park, including a series of family sports clinics.

The Flag Football Clinic on November 12 runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will cover the basics, including flag pulling techniques, ball handling skills, passing and catching skills, and running. At the end of the day, participants will play in a scrimmage. This clinic is recommended for kids who are 5 to 14 years old, and no prior flag football experience is necessary.

On November 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Strength, Speed and Agility clinic will teach young athletes ways improve their physical fitness, train for their sport of choice and improve on all aspects of athletic performance. While most of the Great Park sports clinics are beginner-level, this clinic is more advanced, open to athletes 12 to 16 years old who are serious about improving their athletic ability.

Advance registration is required for both clinics, and a registration link is available at www.ocgp.org. For families looking to learn a new sport together, the Great Park also offers a series of drop-in clinics, including SNAG Golf on November 13 and Family Frisbee Golf on November 20.

The Orange County Great Park is located at Sand Canyon and Marine Way, and can easily be reached by the 5 or 405 freeways. For more information, visit, please visit www.ocgp.org or call 949-724-6800.
