Come Trick or Treat at the Great Park This Saturday

IRVINE – Put on your favorite costume and come trick or treat at the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest and Food Drive this Saturday, October 22. A Great Park themed “Trick or Treat Town” will feature the Balloon Pilot’s house, Farmer Tom’s house and other playful treat stations for kids. The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and also includes a petting zoo, train rides, fall activities and more. Families who bring non-perishable or canned food items will receive the first-ever commemorative Great Park Pumpkin Harvest lapel pin, while supplies last, and their donations will help local food banks fight hunger.

“The Great Park Pumpkin Harvest is filled with good old-fashioned family fun,” said Beth Krom, Chair, Orange County Great Park Corporation. “Kids can play carnival games, go the petting zoo, or get lost in the hay maze. I also encourage families to give generously to our food drive and help families in need enjoy the holiday season.”

Little ones can enjoy Mother Goose Story Time or make their own treat bags. Children can see pumpkins growing in the pumpkin patch and, if they’re twelve or younger, they will receive their own free pumpkin, while supplies last.

While at the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest, vote for your favorite scarecrow created by sixteen different organizations in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank and Great Park agricultural programs at the Scarecrows in the Park contest.

More than 6,000 visitors are expected to attend the Great Park Pumpkin Harvest and Food Drive. Admission is free. Parking is $10.
The Orange County Great Park is located at Sand Canyon and Marine Way, and can easily be reached by the 5 or 405 freeways. For more information, visit https://www.ocgp.org/events or call (866) 829-3829.
