American Chess Equipment teams with Great Park to host free K-12 tournament.

36th Annual Staser Fall Scholastic Chess Tournament at Great Park November 19

IRVINE – Kids in grades K-12 are invited to play in the 36th Annual Staser Fall Scholastic Chess Tournament, a brain stimulating event that takes place Saturday, November 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a break for lunch at noon. There is no entry fee, and the event is open to the public.
Players will be separated into sections by grade level and will play against every person in their section during the course of the tournament. Medallions will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place players in each section of each grade. Every player will receive a certificate of participation.
All boards and sets will be provided by American Chess Equipment. Chess sets will also be available for sale during and after the event.
“Chess improves a student’s ability to think,” said Dewain Barber, American Chess Equipment. “Chess is an important learning tool and serves as an instructional aid in the learning process.”

About the Great Park
