What’s Cooking at the Great Park? Fresh from the Farm
Cooking Demonstration to feature MasterChef contestant Sharone Hakman
June 6, 2011 – IRVINE, California – Cooking and eating fresh, local produce is the new right thing to do. Now, the Orange County Great Park is offering a free cooking demonstration titled “What’s Cooking at the Great Park? Fresh from the Farm.” Sharone Hakman, a contestant featured on TV’s MasterChef, will show you how to prepare fresh, nutritious, seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Great Park Farmers Market.
The cooking demonstration is part of the Great Park’s Health and Wellness Initiative, which includes the Farmers Market, the Farm & Food Lab, and educational events in the Park. The demonstration will take place Sunday, June 12th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the Great Park Farmers Market.
Hakman won praise from Chef Gordon Ramsey of the hit MasterChef cooking show on Fox TV. During the cooking demonstration, Hakman will use green beans picked just yards away at the Great Park Farm. Visitors to the Great Park Farmers Market can buy same-day picked produce form the Great Park farm, as well as fresh locally-grown fruits and vegetables. The Market also features a wide variety of gourmet food trucks and live entertainment.
