
El Toro Field at the Great Park
The expansive runways, hangars, roads and buildings on the former Marine Corps Air Station have been used for a wide variety of events, filming and other activities since 2002. With eight million square feet of runways available, there is always room for television and movie filming, car club events, driving schools, vehicle testing and corporate events. These areas will continue to be available for rent even as the former base is being developed into the Orange County Great Park.

Looking south toward the four runway intersection you have the RV storage area to your back and the coastal hills in the far distance. These two runways turn into 34L & 34R at the intersection.

Running from south to north these two runways are the longest at about 1.8 miles long. Several lighter-colored concrete sections have been favored for film and photo projects. These two runways turn onto 16L & 16R at the intersection.

These two runways run west to east and are over a mile in length. The west end of the runways are closest to the Balloon Park and are often used as the primary parking area for large event. Saddleback Ridge dominates the skyline at the east end of these two runways.

With four 250-foot wide runways converging, this large intersection area is by far the most used area of El Toro Field. Perfect for large event footprints as well as versatile for autocross courses, commercial filming and running footage. Helicopter friendly, wide open and few obstacles create a safe environment for your project.
