Scan-a-Thon
December 4, 10:00am-4:00pm
Bring your photos – and the story behind them – from the ‘60s and ‘70s to be scanned by Artist-in-Residence Deborah Aschheim for use in her new art project!
Deborah is interested in photos that connect you with the ‘60s and ‘70s. These could be photos of you, your parents, your grandparents, your house, your car, almost anything! Deborah is especially interested in any photos you may have that are of Richard Nixon, Spiro Agnew, John F. Kennedy or Dwight D. Eisenhower.
My Nixon, Our Nixon
December 11, 10:00am-4:00pm
Artist-in-Residence Deborah Aschheim is obsessed with her memories of Richard Nixon, and as part of her new art project Deborah is also interested in your memories of Nixon, even if you were born long after he left office. What do you remember about him? Did you see him on TV when he was President? Did you vote for him for governor? Work for one of his campaigns? Did you protest against the war while he was Commander in Chief? Whether you knew him personally or were born long after he died, Deborah wants to hear your story. If you have any photos or memorabilia, such as campaign buttons, banners, inauguration invitations, action figures, this is the day to dig them out and bring them to Great Park to be photographed for Deborah’s project!
