Scarecrows in the Park Contest

Scarecrows in the Park Contest
Extended Deadline! Register by October 1, 2010.

Put on your “building cap” and come join the fun this fall season at the Great Park!

This October, the Orange County Great Park will be collaborating with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County to host Scarecrows in the Park. It is a seasonal exhibit that will be showcased during park hours from October 21st to November 19th.

Embrace the cool fall weather by organizing a team to create a scarecrow that represents your organization! It is a great team building exercise for your staff and we encourage you to incorporate your organization’s area of focus in the scarecrow’s design theme.

Scarecrow entries will be highlighted at the Great Park’s annual Pumpkin Harvest event on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Over 6,000 visitors are expected to be in attendance and to have the opportunity to vote for their favorite scarecrow. Winners will be featured on the Great Park website and newsletter publication that has an approximate 200,000 circulation throughout Orange County. Additional acknowledgements will also be given to all other scarecrow entries.

Scarecrows in the Park will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and the Great Park agricultural education programs. Your $500 scarecrow entry fee will help these organizations assist in the needs and education of local families for a healthier future.

Please join us in our inaugural Scarecrows in the Park event – one which is sure to be a fun and beneficial event for communities throughout Orange County.
