A Tribute to El Toro’s past

On October 2, 2008, the Orange County Great Park paid tribute to those who shared and documented their El Toro life memories through the Great Park Oral History Program (a collaboration with California State University Fullerton’s Center for Oral and Public History). More than 150 interviews have been completed.

The Center for Oral and Public History is still searching for narrators for the Oral History Project. They are especially interested in hearing from veterans and members of the community who were stationed at or lived near the base during World War II and the Korean War.
